I love going to the gym so I’ve decided to blog on some gym topics without straying too far from the blog theme. So I know what you’re thinking. We’re going to blog on exercise so we can look hot ‘n’ sexy for our significant others. And I’m going to say … not quite.
Yes! We want to look good for our lovers (and ourselves!) but most importantly we want to look good for God! Now you’re thinking I’ve lost my mind!
I’ll be specific! We want to be healthy for God. The Bible says that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit:
“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; You were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your body,” 1 Cor 6:19-20 NIV
This means you need to treat your body with respect, be careful what you do with it, and what you put into it. We need to purge our temples of unhealthy habits, poor diets and laziness just like Jesus purged the Lord’s temple of the money changers and salesmen:
“Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.” Matt 21:12 NIV
Remember exercise and proper diet is about honouring God; feeling good and looking good are just latent functions!
P.S. I don’t think God would mind if you pass on the “euro training” LOL! Look out for the first exercise post next Friday!
